At SoundEX.ai, protecting your creative rights is a core part of how we operate. This page explains how copyright works within the platform and what we do to protect yours.
What You Own, On Every Path
When you upload music to SoundEX.ai, you retain full copyright ownership of your work. The platform does not claim any ownership over your masters, your publishing, or any associated rights, regardless of which distribution path you choose.
Standard Distribution (Path B)
You retain 100% of all rights. The platform takes a variable fee (20% default) on master revenue only. No ownership is transferred at any time.
Creative Funding (Path A)
You retain full copyright. You share 25% of master recording revenue with early fan-investors and the platform for 5 years. This is a revenue-sharing agreement, not a transfer of copyright.

- 100% of your performance royalties
- 75% of your master recording revenue throughout
At the 5-year Co-Ownership Phase milestone, the fan share transitions to the platform as a long-term supporting network partner and your distribution becomes free, forever. At no point does the platform claim ownership of the underlying copyright.
Platform Usage
SoundEX.ai uses your music data and metadata solely to provide platform services: analytics, distribution, AI recommendations, and financial reporting. Your data is never sold to third parties.
Reporting a Copyright Concern
If you believe your copyright has been infringed within the platform, email our team. We take all reports seriously and respond within 48 hours.
