These terms explain how the SoundEX.ai Ambassador Programme lowers your distribution fee. SoundEX.ai is operated by EM-Muzic Ltd. These terms add to our Terms of Service and to the distribution terms you accept for each release. If they differ on the Ambassador Programme, these terms apply.
Start
The fee reduction applies from the date we announce on the Platform that the Ambassador Programme has started. Until then, the Platform may show the programme as coming soon.
Qualified referrals
A referral qualifies when a person:
- joins the Platform through your personal invite link;
- is approved by us to use the Platform;
- completes onboarding as an artist; and
- connects a Spotify or Apple Music artist page that no other account on the Platform holds.
We decide whether a referral qualifies. We may refuse a referral that is your own account, a duplicate, or otherwise not a genuine new artist.
Each qualified referral gives you one credit.
Referrals that meet these conditions before the start date count as qualified referrals from the start date.
An artist with 3 or more qualified referrals is shown as an ambassador on the Platform.
The reduction
Each credit reduces your distribution fee by 3 percentage points. For example, a fee of 25% becomes 22% with one credit.
Up to 5 credits apply to one release. The reduction never takes your fee below 10%, whatever your starting rate.
Which release, and for how long
Your credits apply to the next release you distribute through the Platform. The reduction lasts for the first 12 months after that release goes live in stores. It does not apply to that release after those 12 months.
If you have more than 5 credits, the oldest 5 apply to that release. The rest carry over to your following release, and so on.
When credits expire
A credit that has not been applied to a release expires 12 months after it was earned. For a referral that qualified before the start date, the 12 months run from the start date.
Conditions
- The reduction applies only to a release for which you own 100% of the master recording.
- It does not apply to a release funded through a fan-funding feature, which has its own terms.
- Credits are personal to you. They cannot be transferred to another person or account, or exchanged for money.
- If we find that a credit was obtained through a referral that did not meet these terms, we may remove it, and the reduction it gave.
Changes
We may change or end the Ambassador Programme for the future, by notice on the Platform.
- A reduction already applied to a release continues for its 12 months.
- Credits you earned before a change are kept, and apply to your next release under the terms that applied when you earned them.
